Soy free for those who have soy allergy. Great to know information.I had very high cortisol at night preventing me from sleeping well, coupled with heart palpitations for hours upon waking. For several months I suffered debilitating brain fog, exhaustion and depression all day. I didn't feel like myself at all and had several health issues I was dealing with but I knew for sure from tests that my cortisol was double the limit 3 of the 4 readings per day and was contributing to my insomnia and symptoms significantly. I actually ordered this and the bottle sat unopened for a month because I was on so many supplements to help me sleep that just weren't working and I didn't want to add one more. After an especially frustrating couple nights of no sleep and exhaustion to the core all day and tired of just not feeling like myself, I started taking one of these at night before bed, and the next day I felt about 25% better. So I took another in the morning. By day 2, I was 50% better and up and around with a bit more energy. I'm not kidding when I say within a matter of days the heart palpitations that plagued me for MONTHS were gone and I was getting a quality 6-8 hours a night of sleep. I do still have to take a tiny dose of about 1.5 mg melatonin, but have gotten rid of all other sleep aids. By day 3 I also felt relatively back to normal during the day - almost all of my brain fog lifted, and I had energy again. I can safely say this has basically been my miracle supplement and I could not be without it. I've been using it for a little over a month and am so thankful I decided to give it a try. I ended up switching out my morning dose for Zhou Calm Now which has zinc and B vitamins and a few other adaptogens for adrenal fatigue and I prefer that since it gives me a little boost. The combination of this at night and the Calm Now during the day has given me my life back. I will say, when I took this Phosphatidylserine during the day a few times it never once made me sleepy and I noticed feeling calmer. I returned to college last year to pursue a doctorate and welcomed any memory and mental acuity help I could get. That being said, I have tried numerous vitamins, supplements, etc. over the years and have come to believe in very few. This is one I truly believe is effective. I'm not saying you're going to get smarter, start cracking atoms in your kitchen nor launching celestial rovers from your backyard (unless you're already wont to do such things). However, this product did make me feel sharper and seem to improve my recall memory, by way of faster processing, almost immediately. As I mentioned I test out quite a few supplements and, when I feel like something new I am trying doesn't work, I generally do not tell anyone about it. Because I believe in this one I told my girlfriend and she started taking it. She too felt like it enhanced her memory and acuity right away; enough that she even wanted to kick in for the next supply of what she affectionately refers to as "brain pills."Finally, I am always looking for the most bang for the buck and that briefly led me to another company's version. It was still a softgel and same dosage, but not soy-free. While I don't know if that was the only issue with it, I do feel like it was less effective if not completely ineffective. So I'm back with Natural Bioscience because, in my opinion, it works and is the best buy for phosphatidyl serine on Amazon.
